Construction and initial studies on a 0.6 mm coaxial calibration kit to 220 GHz

Measurement requirements continue to push higher into the 100 s of GHz. While most situations of current interest are directly on-wafer or in waveguide fixturing, there may be value to coaxial calibrations including as a means of characterizing probes and adapters, for measurements while providing direct bias to fixtured devices, and for simplifying some frequency conversion measurements. To facilitate these applications, an overdetermined offset short calibration kit has been created in 0.6 mm coax (to 220 GHz) along with a low frequency load standard. Certain uncertainty components appear to be on par with those of waveguide kits in a similar frequency range and a sampling of comparative measurements show reasonable agreement.
