Itinerary Planning for Tourists using Internet of Things

It is important for the tourist to decide the order of visiting tourist spots of a tourist place. This study seeks to overcome the problems and challenges faced by the visitors and suggest new ways to cover all the local sites of a tourist place. Several hotels and tourist guides offer tourism packages which provide the tourists a sight of budget, route, distance and about the destination spots. This study has proposed a real time model for the tourist to make a plan a visit to various tourist spots. The researchers in the paper propose an Internet of Things (IoT) based system to give equal importance to the tourist spots and on the basis of the data recorded this model recommends a suitable itinerary to the visitors, which would cover maximum spots in a given time period. The proposed model would display tourist footfall of the tourist spots and guide the visitors to decide a suitable itinerary. The proposed model provides a novel approach by using Internet of Things (IoT) to produce a well-organized itinerary for the visitors.
