Abstract:

In this article, we propose a novel fuzzy control scheme to enhance the ride comfort of active vehicle suspension systems (AVSSs). To begin, Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy theory is employed to address uncertainty in AVSSs. Second, a novel fuzzy controller based on the homogeneous polynomially parameter-dependent (HPPD) technique is developed, which can operate using an effective switching mechanism. The combination of the HPPD technique and switching greatly enhances the flexibility of fuzzy controllers. On this premise, the Lyapunov function with HPPD matrices is employed to provide an enhanced control strategy, which effectively improves the ride comfort performance of the AVSSs. Finally, the proposed scheme's effectiveness is demonstrated by the simulation and hardware-in-the-loop experiments.
