Invited Paper: Comparison and Analysis of on-Chip Broadband Integrated Balun

This paper conducts a comprehensive comparison and analysis of popular on-chip passive broadband baluns, including transformer voltage/current balun, Marchand Balun, etc., emphasizing their topologies, working performance, circuit models, and bandwidth limitations. Subsequently, a novel ultra-wideband on-chip balun is introduced, and its broadband performance is demonstrated through theoretical analysis, simulation, and measurement. The measurement results validate the proposed topology's superior bandwidth and excellent performance in terms of amplitude and phase imbalances.
