Characterization of MIRA ASIC with a MCP and new version towards upscaling of UV sensor readout formats

MIRA (Microchannel Readout Asic) is a pixelated ASIC composed of a 2D matrix of $32 \times 32$ pixels. It has been realized in the PLUS project (PLanetary Ultraviolet Spectrometer) which aims to develop a novel dual channel FUV/EUV imaging spectrometer working in 55-200 nm spectral range. Within this context, the MIRA is designed to provide high counting capacity (100 Kcps/pixel), a low input Equivalent Noise Charge (ENC) of $20 \mathrm{e}^{-}{ }_{\text {ms}}$ and an high Dynamic Range (DR). In this work, we present MIRA’s characterization of both the analog and digital sections including the measurements with a Micro Channel Plate (MCP). Finally, we present the work done on revising the circuit, in particular on power reduction of analog readout chain, with the goal to upscale the pixel matrix and therefore reducing the voltage drops on the power supply lines.
