A Soft-Switched ZVS-ZCS Boost Converter Design and Analysis

The Boost converter, which plays a significant role in ramping up the DC voltage at the input without adding any intermediary ac stage, is the most notable dc-dc converter. Low frequency switching increases the filter's size of converter, thus high frequency switching is preferred. Conventional converter switching causes power losses during high frequency switching, which lowers system efficiency, soft switching (ZCS & ZVS) is employed to eliminate switching loss. In this study, boost converters are powered by zero voltage switching (ZVS) and zero current switching (ZCS) based soft switching techniques with single auxiliary capacitor and diode. The ZVS-ZCS Boost converter, which functions as a resonant boost regulator, was designed using a new methodology in this study. The boost converter has been modelled, and the required output simulation results and waveforms are shown. MATLAB Simulink was used to create and simulate an 850 W prototype model.
