Impact of Digital Modulation on Optical Fiber Communication

In this study, we investigate the impact of modulation order on optical fiber communication systems using MATLAB simulation. The research explores the balance between high-order and low-order modulation strategies to optimize the application of modulation order in optical fiber networks. By evaluating the effects on speed, quality, and capacity, our study highlights how different modulation orders can be effectively utilized in standard communication settings and tailored to specific application demands. Key considerations include optical fiber attributes, modulation methods, signal processing approaches, and network configurations. The findings contribute to the ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of optical fiber networks in our rapidly advancing information society.
