A Filtering Antenna with Integrated Band-Reject Filter for 5G Sub-6 GHz/Wireless Applications

This research paper presents a compact filtering antenna which combines functionality of both UWB antenna and a band reject filter. The UWB antenna is working in frequency range of 1 GHz to 11 GHz and second component is Band reject filter which is rejecting frequency ranging from 3GHz to 3.42 GHz having 3.2 GHz as resonant frequency and passing the rest. It is having large applications on 5G Sub-6 GHz frequency range. The structure is built on low cost FR4 substrate based on defected ground structure. The proposed design is simulated using Ansys HFSS software and the output shows good results for the proposed application. The designed antenna system is suitable for fifth-generation(5G) UWB systems.
