Performance Analysis of an Induction Motor Couple VIF for EV

In the present day, the enhancement of electric vehicle (EV) efficiency has paramount importance. The primary objective of electric mobility, in addition to promoting sustainability, is to fulfil energy reduction demand. Energy conservation is a crucial aspect in the realm of electric vehicles since these vehicles rely on meticulously engineered electromechanical systems to power their motors. Induction motors are used in electric vehicles due to their high efficiency and associated advantages. The use of a flywheel with a variable moment of inertia may enhance speed stability and energy efficiency in order to enhance the stability of induction motor speed against loading effects. The present study introduces a novel approach for controlling speed and power consumption via the use of a magnetorheological fluid (MRVIF)-based vibration absorber that incorporates a variable inertia flywheel (VIF). The disparity between the output torque and load torque of an induction motor (1M) has the potential to alter the moment of inertia of a flywheel. The analysis focuses on the rotational speed and excitation current as variables for adjusting the moment of inertia of the MR damper. The study's primary objective is to compare power consumption and stability over a range of input powers and rotation rates. A standard model of the MRVIF is created for testing its utilization possibility. The designed experiments finally verify the efficiency as well as durability of 1M. The results provide sufficient possibility for the feasibility of the MRVIF in reducing power needs and improving steadiness.
