Design and Analysis of Grid Connected Solar PV System Using PVsyst Software

As a part of going Green Initiative, it necessitates the establishment of Grid-connected solar tied systems especially at educational institutions like Bapatla Engineering College, Andhra Pradesh, India. This paper mainly discusses the feasibility and design considerations of a grid-tide micro solar photovoltaic plant for a 500 KWp range which was Located at 16.77° N and 80.63° E, India, which is an ideal region for solar energy generation and utilization. As Most of the educational institutions have free space in rooftops, opting for a rooftop system helps avoid the land acquisition issues for installing a solar power plant. Before installing the Plant to check the feasibility of establishment of a plant in the selected area, the PVsyst software was used to forecast, design and simulate. Simulation results of the 500KWp grid-connected rooftop Solar PV system presented in detail.
