Optimized Operation Of An Integrated Energy System Considering A Stepped Carbon Trading Framework

This article delves into the optimal operation of an integrated energy system for electricity and heat operating within a stepped carbon trading framework. To optimize and reduce the overall expenditure of the system, this paper establishes an optimization model including the operational and maintenance expenditures of the system, along with the costs associated with electricity procurement, and the expenditures for carbon trading. Notably, the allocation of power within the system at different time periods is optimized by taking into account the operating characteristics and constraints of various devices such as turbine for gas, boiler utilizing waste heat, boiler run by gas, heat pump system, and an electrical energy storage mechanism and thermal energy storage system. In addition, this article adopts the CPLEX optimization solver to solve and analyze two typical scenarios, the findings indicate that the introduced approach significantly decreases operational expenses, mitigates carbon emissions, and optimizes the economic gains of the system while meeting the user's needs.
