MPC-Based Power Constrain Control Method for Photovoltaic Power Plants

With the growing global energy demand and increasing awareness of environmental protection, photovoltaic (PV) power generation is receiving more and more attention as a clean and renewable form of energy. In order to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system, power constraining control of PV power plants is required. In this paper, a model predictive control (MPC)-based power constraining control method for PV power plants is proposed. The method first establishes a mathematical model of the DC-DC converter, and then uses the MPC algorithm to predict and optimize the output power of the PV power plant to meet the power constraining requirements of the power system. The experimental results show that the MPC-based power constraining control method for PV power plants proposed in this paper has better dynamic response and robustness compared with the traditional PI control method, and can effectively realize the power constraining control of PV power plants.
