Calibration Experiment of FSAE Race Car Engine Based on Chunfeng CLX700 Engine

The rules of the Formula Student China(FSC) competition require installing a 20mm restrictor in the engine intake system to limit engine power. This study utilized the Chunfeng CLX-700 engine from Zhejiang Chunfeng Power Co., Ltd, replacing the former Honda CBR-600RR unit. Additionally, a camshaft position sensor was incorporated to enhance ignition cylinder recognition precision. The LINK Fury X ECU was employed to replace the original ECU for sensor matching and recalibration. Post-calibration analysis revealed that the Chunfeng CLX-700 engine exhibited a 16% surge in peak torque, extended the duration of the high torque zone (over 80% of peak torque speed range), and expedited its onset by 4000 rpm when compared with the preceding Honda CBR-600RR engine.
