Coordinated Control Strategy for Doubly-Fed Induction Generator Based on RBF - PID Adaptive Control

This paper proposes a coordinated control strategy for doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) considering dynamic reactive power support, which consists of two components: an RBF -PID adaptive controller and a coordination algorithm. Firstly, aiming at voltage and reactive power support during wind turbine fault ride-through, a combination of reinforcement learning and traditional PID controllers is proposed. Under the Actor-Critic framework, the RBF neural network is used to share the input and hidden layers of the network, forming an adaptive RBF -PID controller that obtains the reactive power control reference values during fault ride-through. Then, considering the requirements of safety, controller reference values, and fault ride-through performance indicators, a coordinated control strategy for grid-side converter (GSC) and rotor-side converter (RSC) is proposed to achieve a reasonable allocation of reactive power demands between the two converters. Finally, simulations are conducted to verify that the proposed coordinated control strategy exhibits good fault ride-through performance and reactive power support effects during DFIG faults.
