Numerical Simulation of the Influence of Exhaust Diffuser Support Plate Structure on Aerodynamic Performance

Heavy duty gas turbines are efficient energy conversion equipment used for power generation and industrial applications. The interaction and complex geometric structure between the exhaust diffuser and the upstream flow field result in the flow field characteristics inside the diffuser, which affects the efficiency of the entire gas turbine. This article uses numerical simulation methods to study the structure of the diffuser support plate in the exhaust system of a heavy-duty gas turbine. The research shows that the static pressure recovery coefficient increases and then decreases with the increase of rotation angle between the support plate and guide vane, and the total pressure loss coefficient first decreases and then increases. When the rotation angle is 20 °, the static pressure recovery coefficient increases by 4.27% compared to the working condition at 0°, and the total pressure loss coefficient decreases by 7.71%. At this time, the coaxiality is high.
