Analysis of Hydrogen Air Detonation Flow Field in Long Pipelines Under Obstacle Setting Conditions

The current research on hydrogen safety is of paramount importance for the utilization of hydrogen energy. This paper experimentally verifies the effectiveness of simulating hydrogen deflagration in a pipeline with obstacles. Furthermore, it analyzes the flame behavior, pressure characteristics, and unique flow field structures caused by obstacle disturbances during hydrogen deflagration in a semi-enclosed pipeline with obstacles. It was found that the behavior of hydrogen deflagration flames is similar to that of conventional combustible gases, but with the fastest deflagration speed. As the flame front advances, the pressure values are clearly divided into different regions by the obstacles. Additionally, unique vortex structures are formed behind the obstacles, with the most intense vortex fields often occurring behind the obstacles in front of the flame front.
