Developing hybrid quantum-classical software: a software product line approach

Quantum computing is rapidly emerging as a transformative force in technology. In the near future we will increasingly encounter hybrid systems that combine quantum technology with classical software. Software engineering techniques will be needed to manage the complexity of designing such systems and their reuse. This paper introduces preliminary ideas for developing quantum-classical software using a Software Product Line approach in line with the Model-Driven Engineering principles. This approach addresses the mentioned challenges and drafts a framework for developing hybrid quantum-classical software.
