Vehicle Dynamics Modeling and Sizing of Energy Storage System Based on Indian Driving Cycle

Vehicle dynamics is a complex analytical and experimental technology that is used to investigate and comprehend a vehicle's reactions in a variety of in-motion scenarios. The parameters required for vehicle dynamics modeling includes driving cycle and the specification of the conventional vehicle. The drive cycle provides the data of speed with respect to time and the conventional vehicle considered here is an auto-rickshaw it is a three-wheeled vehicle used for last-mile transportation in both urban and rural locations, carrying both passengers and cargo. The auto-rickshaw is the most practical, user-friendly and cost-effective means of transportation. Based on the specification of conventional one, the proposed vehicle dynamics system is arrived. This study aims to design a vehicle dynamics model for an Indian driving condition and it is used to estimate the performance measurement parameters such as force, power, torque and Energy demand using MATLAB/SIMULINK environment which in turn further helps to design an energy storage system.
