Silicon Integrated Computational Spectrometer with Cascaded Add-Drop Micro-Ring Resonators

We report the design and implementation of an integrated computational spectrometer on a silicon-on-insulator substrate. The device has 31 filter units, which are cascaded add-drop micro-ring resonators with different parameters. The spectrometer has a footprint of 1.5 mm
²
and shows a resolution of 0.11 nm in the C-band.
