Linearized Microwave Photonic Image-Reject Mixer Based On Polarization Multiplexing

A linearized microwave photonic image-reject mixer (IRM) based on polarization multiplexing is proposed and experimentally verified in this paper. The simultaneous image-reject mixing and the third-order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) suppression are experimentally achieved. The image-reject ratio of 27 dB over 1-GHz bandwidth is achieved. Meanwhile, the SFDR of
$\mathbf{112}\ \mathbf{dB}\cdot \mathbf{Hz}^{\mathbf{2}/\mathbf{3}}$
is realized.
