Surface post-modifications of 3D-printed micro/nano-materials

The responsiveness of many sensitive materials is tied to processes and interactions at their interface with the outer environment. The interface properties are themselves highly dependent on the nature of the surface chemical functions and their spatial arrangement. In this respect, developing a surface modification chemistry of micro/nano-materials will open up new possibilities for designing architectures able to interact at the interface. This review presents pioneering approaches in this research field.
