Microwave Photonics Optical Filter for ESM Systems

Electronic spectrum measurement systems are among the most demanding RF applications that can take advantage form microwave photonics. In order to meet the requirements of dynamic range, size, weight and power consumption (SWaP), a system based on hybrid photonic integration has been developed. In this paper, we present the implementation of an integrated optical filter made with silicon nitride technology designed to eliminate the occurrence of aliasing phenomena in a RF scanning receiver seamlessly operating over a 40 GHz range.
