Abstract:
This keynote paper is in relation to the IEEE Milestone achievement recognition, made by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) for the worldwide first control of movement of a robot directly through the signals emanating from a human brain. As part of the recognition procedure, IEEE placed a monument, a bronze plaque on a wall, in the building where the achievement took place in 1988 in Skopje, Macedonia. The paper describes some pioneering scientific results of the authors, the results of which preceded the 1988 Milestone event, along with the event itself.
