The Comparision and Analysis Between Swim Directional and Elfouhaily Directional Spectrum

The directional spectrum characterizes wave energy distribution in wavenumbers and directions. It contributes significantly to understanding rough sea conditions and electromagnetic scattering mechanisms. In this research, SWIM measurements are compared with the angular spreading function of Elfouhaily spectrum, a widely applied wind-wave spectrum. The comparison reveals the model's characteristic of wind-spectrum describing with limited consideration of swell components in ocean surface roughness. The experiments reveal distinctive appearances at specific angles, demonstrating a correlation with wind speed. Conclusions indicate the necessity to refine the model structure to formulate a novel model for the ocean surface description based on the SWIM observations.
