SCR Weighting and Robust Peak Positioning in Phase Difference Algorithm for Stripmap SAR

The phase difference (PD) algorithm offers effective support for fine imaging in the airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR). However, for the stripmap mode, the incomplete phase history may reduce the robustness of PD. Considering it, two improvements regarding weighting and positioning in PD were proposed. The signal-to-clutter ratio (SCR) weighting can imply the phase history incompleteness and the peak positioning via phase information can achieve higher estimation accuracy than the upsampling method. Combining them, the stripmap phase difference (SPD) framework was given. Simulation and real data results validated its effectiveness.
