Dinsar Monitoring at an Active Landslide Area in the High Andes of Chile Using S1 Radar Images

Differential Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (DInSAR) technique has proven to be a reliable method for landslide monitoring and can be used for several purposes such as the confection of landslide hazard maps. In this contribution we present the satellite monitoring at an active landslide area in the high Andes of central Chile using the Sentinel-1 (S1) radar images. During the 2014-2022 period we identified a subsidence of up to 11 cm and a mean vertical displacement velocity of 1.2 cm/year, which would indicate that the landslide area is still active and therefore has a potential of collapse in the near future.
