Model Predictive Control With Transient Process Shaping and Its Application to Small Aircraft

The shaping of transient processes in dynamic systems, although often overlooked, constitutes a critical research concern. This paper introduces a model predictive controller that addresses the morphological control challenges of dynamic system transient processes. The idea is to control the shape of the transient process by regulating the damping ratio of the system. Initially, an auxiliary controller is designed to provide guidance and reference for regulating the system damping ratio. Subsequently, leveraging the Lyapunov comparison principle, the auxiliary control law is transformed into corresponding inequality constraints. Simultaneously, the paper introduces a function-adaptive law to compensate for model uncertainty and disturbance inherent in actual systems. The stability analysis of both the model predictive controller and the function-adaptive law is conducted utilizing the Lyapunov stability criterion. Finally, verification experiments are performed on a small aircraft platform, confirming the algorithm's efficacy in addressing transient process shaping challenges.
