SPMSM Adaptive Control With Guaranteed Dynamic Response Under Parameter Mismatch

The dynamic performance of the surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPMSM) will be affected by the moment of inertia mismatch. To guarantee the desired dynamic response of the motors under parameter mismatch, we propose an adaptive speed controller characterized by the invariable closed-loop pole. Due to the adaptive laws in the speed controller being designed to satisfy the persistent excitation condition, the closed-loop poles of the SPMSM control system do not change with the parameter drift. In addition, an adaptive current controller is designed following the immersion and invariance technique, which is able to guarantee that the estimation error of the stator resistance and magnet flux linkage are globally convergent. Finally, the proposed control scheme is verified by simulation and experimental results.
