HVAC Smart Controller by Using Thermostatic Bio-Sensor and Adopting Dynamic Approach

The purpose of this project is to replace the remote control-based conventional AC system with an activity level to improve the thermal and environmental conditions of human occupancy. The modified predicted mean vote (mPMV) model correlates the Mean Arterial Blood Pressure (MAP) with the activity level, improving the queries in the predicted mean vote (PMV) model. It gives a more efficient and adaptive approach related to the bio-sensing HVAC smart controller system using ASHRAE Standard 55–2013. mPMV model is related to six parameters including two personal (Activity Level, Clothing Insulation) and four environmental (Room Temperature, Radiant Temperature, Relative Humidity, Air Velocity) factors. Arduino-based Bluetooth module system with Temperature-Humidity sensor and Bluetooth Blood Pressure measuring wrist watch as controlling parameters is used for the development of prototype. This model deals with different levels of age, sex, and ethnicity of the people to provide thermal human comfort. This modified smart controller results in reduced energy consumption with increased efficiency of HVAC system.
