Remote-Based Cardiovascular Monitoring Using Self-Injection Locked Radar – A Position to Study

This paper presents the development of a location-dependent remote technique for monitoring cardiac movements, using a flexible transmitarray lens at 5.8 GHz. By applying self-injection-locked radar, we conducted measurements at four distinct chest locations, revealing significant variations in signal amplitude and waveform characteristics based on chest positioning. These findings demonstrate how specific thoracic locations influence radar signals and provide a deeper understanding of complex heart motion patterns. This enhanced understanding underscores the importance of chest positioning in extracting accurate radar-derived cardiac monitoring data. The insights gained are pivotal in enhancing the precision and effectiveness of cardiac healthcare methodologies, utilizing sophisticated radar technology for medical applications.
