Scattering Invariant Mode wave propagation using antenna arrays

This study examines low-loss microwave propagation that is achieved by utilizing scattering invariant modes (SIMs) using antenna-beam forming. SIMs are less affected by the variation of the media than the regular beams used in radio wave communication techniques, and they are calculated here based on measurement results for the scattering structure in an anechoic chamber. The scattering structure for our feasibility study consists of metallic cylinders as scatterers. The novelty in the current work is the introduction of a near-field beam-forming technique that is validated by experiments.
