Design and Optimization of Levitation Gap Sensors for High-speed Maglev trains

The levitation gap sensor is an indispensable component of the high-speed magnetic levitation train system. It relies on nondestructive testing technology to precisely determine the relative position of the suspension system by detecting the long stator cogging structure. In this paper, a new coil structure is proposed based on the molecular current theory and magnetic field mirror method to mitigate the cogging effect, thereby accommodating the reduced size of the stator slot. Additionally, electromagnetic analysis is employed to arrange the two groups of coils in a 90-degree staggered phase to weaken the cogging effect further. The LDC1612 inductive detection chip is utilized to detect and address changes in the detection coil's inductance. Finally, the feasibility of the coil structure is verified through experiments.
