Design and Analysis of Rotary Constant Tension Mooring Device

Aiming at the problems in the mooring process of large ships under bad sea conditions, a design of a rotating constant tension mooring system is proposed in this paper. The calculation of parameters and the selection of key components in the mooring process are carried out, and the accumulator is selected as the power source in the mooring process to reduce the energy loss in the mooring process. The mechanical structure and working mode of rotary constant tension mooring system are introduced in detail. A joint analysis was carried out in AQWA and Simulink, and the analysis results showed that the tension on the rope of the rotary constant tension mooring system was relatively constant compared with the traditional bollard mooring system, so it could effectively improve the stability of the mooring process under the condition of using less energy. It avoids breaking of the cable due to excessive instantaneous tension on the cable during mooring.
