Polarization-Agile Applicators in Hyperthermia Treatments of a Human-Head Heterogeneous Model

A hyperthermia applicator that can independently radiate two orthogonal polarizations is proposed to control power deposition better. A numerical model is used to predict power deposition inside a human head. The increased number of degrees of freedom thus obtained is a prerequisite for implementing a treatment plan that better enables reduction of hot spots.
