A Single Switch Ultra-High Step-Up DC-DC Converter Based on a Coupled Inductor with Two Output Ports for Renewable Energy Applications

This study introduces an innovative design for a dual-output high-voltage DC-DC converter. The advantages of this converter encompass low input current ripple, reduced voltage stress on power switches and diodes, the presence of a common ground, and increased overall efficiency. The incorporation of a coupled inductor (CI) eliminates the need for a high-power switch duty cycle, thereby minimizing conduction losses and enhancing efficiency. Additionally, the lower voltage stresses enable the use of lower-rated semiconductors, resulting in cost and volume savings. The propounded converter is thoroughly examined, and simulation results in PSCAD/EMTDC are provided to validate the theoretical analyses.
