Ruamrean: Transformative Developments in Learning Management Systems

In the context of rapidly evolving digital technologies, existing learning management systems (LMS) often reveal significant shortcomings, particularly in their capacity to integrate seamlessly within the diverse and dynamic ecosystems of contemporary educational environments. To address these challenges, the “Ruamrean” platform was developed, aiming to foster a comprehensive ‘Learning City’ that supports lifelong learning and cultivates a robust learning ecosystem. This research advances the development of a resilient database platform system designed to enhance interagency collaboration among municipal education bodies and augment the quality of life within communities through educational innovations. Implemented across five provinces and engaging 1,030 participants, the methodology employed includes both focus group interviews and in-depth interviews, with data analysis executed via content analysis and exploratory studies. The results demonstrate that the “Ruamrean” platform effectively accommodates various user groups-learners, instructors, and system administrators-offering an extensive catalogue of courses, predominantly in technology-related areas. The development of this platform represents a pivotal advancement in overcoming the educational constraints observed in existing systems and significantly contributes to the sustainable development of local communities.
