Nanotechnology in Wastewater and Sewage Management

Demand for clean and safer water for consumption and daily activities is on the rise due to the rapid growth of in Human population which is fast resulting in deforestation, rapid urbanization, increased agricultural practices and industrialization. Over the years, several methods such as biological, sludge, physical and chemical have been engaged in purifying Wastewater. In recent years, the use of advanced oxidation, electrocoagulation are now being used. Another technology that involves a cross disciplinary approach with efficient and effective response to wastewater treatment is the use of Nanotechnology. This approach combines the basic attributes of chemical sciences, physical, and biological properties of particles for efficient wastewater management and treatment.
