A Concise Review of Techniques for Green Hydrogen Production

As a direct consequence of the rise of human activities and population, the quantity of energy that is required around the globe has significantly increased in recent decades. At the moment, the principal source of energy for the entire world is from fossil fuels, which are accountable for the pollution and destruction of the environment as a result of the production of greenhouse gases. Hydrogen has been demonstrated to be an efficient carrier of energy, and it can be generated from sources that are either renewable (green) or non-renewable. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the techniques used in producing green hydrogen from the process of splitting water, such as electrolysis, thermolysis, and photolysis. The limitations that are associated with the utilization of these techniques are also discussed. The study is concluded with suggestions on areas of further research aimed at assisting researchers in improving the technical efficiency of a variety of green hydrogen production mechanisms.
