Integration of Aeromagnetic data for Delineating Structures and Mineral Potentials in a Part Share Sheet 202 NW

Magnetic method plays an important role in mineral investigation which ranges from structure delineations to detect possible areas of gemstone deposits, since minerals are structurally controlled. Thus, delineating, they play a key role in the localization of mineralization. Besides solving problems that are concerned with the basement, the method has become a useful tool in exploring minerals, hydrocarbons occurrence, groundwater investigations, and geothermal potentials. This study analyses aeromagnetic data from the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency acquired at 500 m terrain clearance over a section of Share in Kwara State. The study area spans longitudes 4°30'E to 4°45'E and latitude 8°30' N to 9°00' N (about 756.25 km
²
). Analytic signal filter was applied on TMI-RTE grid to detect the edges of the magnetic bodies present. After a reduction to the equator (RTE) transformation, the data is upward continued by 20 m. Different filters are applied to outline area of alteration associated to mineral deposit. Regional geologic structures trend NE - NW. The application of vertical derivative (FVD) to the RTE grid enhanced shallow structures which trend ENE - WSW. The Tilt derivative (TD) accentuated fault lines which trend NE - SW. The primary trend observed in the area’s magnetically inferred structural framework map is NE-SW, while a few are in the NW-SE and E-W trends. Geological evidence of gemstone mineralization, such as favorable lithology, geological structure, and hydrothermal alterations, has been fused to produce a reliable potential mineral map of the area. Filters and edge detection methods (such as tilt derivatives, and Euler deconvolution) were used in the study area.
