Comparative Study of Numerical Solutions to non-Linear Equations Using Regula-Falsi and Newton-Raphson Method

This study aimed at comparing the rate of convergence and performance of Newton-Raphson and Regula-Falsi method for solving the nonlinear equations. To solve nonlinear equations, two iterative approaches are looked at and investigated in this paper. The rate of convergence between the first degree based iterative approaches is shown by the two methods that were considered. Subsequently, the four iterative procedures are employed to establish the graphical development in this instance, and varied functions are employed to test the outcomes. The comparative analysis of the approximation inaccuracy between the methods is demonstrated using an example of an algebraic equation. In addition, the optimal approach is validated using two instances of the transcendental and algebraic equation. Newton-Raphson method shows to be the most effective and accurate method when compared with the second method considered in this study.
