Synthetic Routes of Green Nano Structured Photocatalyts: A mini Review

Green nanostructured photocatalysts are a cuttingedge technology that could help solve urgent environmental issues, reduce resultant hazardous effect arising from the use of chemicals and pave the way for a sustainable future. This work investigated the synthetic route of green nano-structured photocatalysts. The creation of environmentally friendly nanostructured photocatalysts has accelerated recently. Via bottom-up approach, the use of plant extracts, sol-gel and microbial synthetic routes have been reported to find relevance in the synthesis of metal and metal-oxide nanoparticles. The nano-photocatalysts synthesized using green synthetic routes are: Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), silver oxide nanoparticles (Ag
2
O), zinc oxide (ZnO), Titanium oxide (TiO
2
), copper oxide (CuO), Paladium nanoparticles (PdNP) and selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs). The green synthetic routes are cost effective, biocompatible, environmentally benign, adaptable technique preventing agglomeration and providing ease of morphological variation and also enhancing crystallinity. They are innovatively promising routes of that should be embraced more for nanomaterials development without residual hazardous effect.
