Soil Classification and Crop Yield Prediction using Deep Learning

India, known for its agricultural landscape, is a prominent producer of numerous crops globally. Despite being at the center of the agricultural industry, Indian farmers are often relegated to the bottom of the social hierarchy. The task of identifying which crop is most appropriate and successful for a particular type of soil remains a challenge, as soil types vary across different geographic regions. Though few technological solutions exist to address this problem, farmers still face difficulty in making informed decisions. To overcome this challenge, this paper presents a crop recommendation system that chooses the best crop to be cultivated using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Random Forest model. The method can produce precise forecasts by examining a number of variables, including the region, soil type, area to be grown, and season.
