Analysis and Compensation of Reverse Clearance of Feed Axis of Pipe Bender

The reverse clearance is a critical factor affecting the accuracy of the feed axis in pipe bending machines, necessitating thorough investigation to enhance feed axis precision. Initially, an analysis was conducted to identify the primary factors influencing reverse clearance. Subsequently, an experimental platform was constructed utilizing components such as a laser interferometer to measure the reverse clearance of the feed axis in the pipe bending machine. The measurement data were then processed to calculate the reverse deviation and average reverse deviation. Following this, a segmented measurement and compensation approach were employed to reduce the reverse clearance of the feed axis in the pipe bending machine. Finally, a comparison of the reverse clearance before and after compensation is conducted to validate the effectiveness of this compensation method.
