Research on DMI-based equipment management technology

Under the general trend of cloud native, the numerous device communication protocols, models, and transmission formats make it difficult to manage and access device instances as easily as application and service instances. At the same time, the transmission, consumption, and processing of massive device data face efficiency problems. Therefore, DMI (Device Management Interface) is proposed to optimize the KubeEdge device management capability. DMI aims to integrate the device management interface, so that the lifecycle of device instances can be managed like application instance Pod, and decouple the business-plane data from the management-plane data. This enables edge applications to obtain and consume data collected by edge devices in multiple ways.
