Development of an innovative, non-invasive IT solution for human monitoring and control of alcohol consumption

It is a social phenomenon that excessive and irresponsible alcohol consumption often occurs in social settings because people frequently are not aware of exactly how much alcohol they are consuming. Consuming multiple high-alcohol beverages or irresponsibly mixing different alcoholic drinks can lead to severe consequences. This raises the need for an app that could help prevent these consequences. The idea was based on a popular diet application designed for personal use, which allows users to record their data and scan barcodes of food items during meals, record the quantity consumed, and then immediately receive information about the product's nutritional value. Our development went through several stages to achieve the final goal. First and foremost, we conducted an extensive survey focused primarily on alcohol consumption habits and the demand for the app we wanted to develop. Following this, we designed various features, the computational methods, and the entire program. We are past the implementation phase, with ongoing data upload and testing processes. We also plan to report any changes during the process, database usage, and future development opportunities.
