Work-In-Progress: Consistent and Tamper-Proof Acquisition of Automatically Verifiable Forensic Web Evidence

This paper proposes a methodology to improve the integrity and admissibility of digital evidence acquired from live web sources, addressing issues with current practices that might render evidence inadmissible due to potential tampering and procedural flaws. To that purpose, we propose a methodology aimed at addressing such challenges. The approach creates a single source of truth format, allowing counterparts to automatically evaluate its integrity and part of its content. Evaluation results indicate that the methodology produces an artifact comparable to state-of-the-art tools, with added benefits such as secure timestamping and automatic integrity evaluation.
