Unleashing the Potential: 2.45 GHz Energy Harvesting with a Rectenna and a 6-Stage Cockcroft- Walton Voltage Multiplier

Recent studies have identified the 2.45 GHz frequency band as a viable option for wireless power harvesting. This paper describes a rectenna system tailored for energy extraction at the specified frequency. The rectenna consists of a 6-stage Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier, a matching circuit, and a load. The patch antenna designed in our previous work is used as a microwave radiation source. This rectenna is specifically engineered to capture 2.45 GHz RF signals and convert them into DC voltage. The designed circuit is calculated and simulated using specialized software. The resulting rectenna circuit is routed and fabricated. Performance evaluations of the assembled rectenna demonstrate that generated voltage reaches 3.5 V at the anticipated input power level.
