Hydro-Sentinel: Flood Water Observation and Extraction System

In regions prone to flooding, such as Chennai, managing floodwater is a critical challenge, especially during heavy storms and rainfall. This project, titled Hydro-Sentinel: Flood Water Observation and Extraction System, addresses this challenge by proposing a comprehensive solution comprising floodwater monitoring and dewatering systems. The monitoring system, based on IoT and embedded systems, continuously monitors water levels and sends SMS alerts to users’ mobile devices when floodwaters breach critical thresholds, enabling timely intervention. Additionally, the dewatering system automatically extracts floodwater once it reaches predefined levels, utilizing level sensors, controllers, and motors. By integrating real-time monitoring and automated dewatering capabilities, Hydro-Sentinel offers an effective solution to mitigate the impact of flooding, preventing water stagnation and minimizing damage to infrastructure and property. The main objective is to eliminate the need for human involvement, Hydro-Sentinel offers a robust solution to mitigate flooding effects, ensuring timely action and reducing the risk of property damage and infrastructure disruption.
