A study of digital ASIC front-end design techniques for whole-angle mode hemispherical resonant gyros

This study addresses the demand for the integration and localization of control circuits for whole-angle mode hemispherical resonator gyros, and carries out digital ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) front-end design and simulation verification work. Initially, focusing on the requirement of whole-angle control, an investigation was conducted into a whole-angle control scheme based on the amplitude demodulation algorithm. Subsequently, to meet the needs of frequency-phase control, a digital phase-locked loop circuit based on the CORDIC algorithm was devised. Furthermore in response to the control requirements of energy and quadrature signals, a study was carried out on a circuit based on the PI control algorithm. Furthermore, to fulfill the requirement for detecting the precession angle of the gyro resonator, an approach for precession angle detection and whole-angle expansion method was explored. Ultimately, the front-end design of the aforementioned circuits and core modules functional verification were accomplished on the IC (integrated circuit) design platform. The validation results indicate that the designed circuits have successfully fulfilled the intended functions and achieved favorable performance metrics, thus laying a solid groundwork for the subsequent back-end design and fabrication of digital ASICs.
