Transient Parameters Monitoring System for Circuit Breaker Based on Matlab and PCIe Acquisition Card

High-voltage circuit breaker is a kind of important protection equipment in power system. When short-circuit fault occurs or equipment maintenance is carried out, the circuit can be instantly disconnected or connected by switching equipment. In this paper, the combination of MATLAB software and PCIe acquisition card was used to realize on-line monitoring of transient parameters such as contact stroke, three-phase voltage and three-phase current of opening and closing coil when the circuit breaker is ON-OFF through MEMS sensor, voltage transformer and current transformer, so that the fault of the circuit breaker can be found in time and the alarm can be realized. The relevant parameters are stored in the database for management, which provides data support for fault diagnosis and health management of circuit breakers. At present, the system has been successfully applied in a 35Kv power transmission system, and the equipment is running normally.
